 It may have been cold on the ice, but the atmosphere at the Curling Challenge was red hot, as 38 brave teams took to the ice, trying to give their companies the perfect start to the Aberdeen Corporate Decathlon 2007.
With 13 new companies on board ready to challenge the more experienced teams from last year, the tension was palpable, and the newcomers immediately made their presence felt, with Vetco, Marathon & Aberdeen City Council all making it to the last 16 , and ?pick of the bunch? Balmoral making it all the way to the Quarter Finals!!
The Quarter Finals saw some thrilling games, with the most exciting match of the competition finishing in a ?draw the button? - Subsea7 could not conceal their delight by claiming victory over Grampian Police, the Corporate Decathlon Champions of 2006.
However, the day and night belonged to the gifted squad from AMEC, who had a convincing win over Nexen in the final, to take their second Curling Title in a row. Subsea7 fought hard finishing in third place after a close match with the simply outstanding novices from Technip, who finished a credible fourth.
